  1. Here's a list of some of my freeware programs, in no particular order:

  3. CAL-Calendar
  4. ------------
  5. Displays 6 or 12 (VGA/50-line mode) months at a time.  Navigate using
  6. keyboard or mouse.  Reminder for annually recurring or important unique
  7. events.  Preset to highlight several holidays and a few other events, but
  8. user-configurable to flexibly highlight other annually recurring or
  9. one-time-only events instead.  Event definitions are kept in the common .DBF
  10. format, so the user must have access to a program able to edit this format,
  11. if customization is desired.

  13. RV-RView
  14. --------
  15. Customizable archive lister & utility.  Currently supported are ARC, ARJ,
  16. HYP, LZH, LZS, PAK, SQZ, ZIP & ZOO.  Displays ZIP- or LZH-style compression
  17. ratios.  Various sort options.  Converts self-extracting archives back to
  18. normal.  Misc. other features.

  20. RVS-RView Shell
  21. ---------------
  22. Shell for viewing and extracting the contents of several archive types.
  23. Calls on user-selectable external programs to extract and view.  Currently
  24. supported are ARC, ARJ, HYP, LZH, LZS, PAK, SQZ, ZIP and ZOO.  Displays
  25. either ZIP- or LZH-style compression ratios.  Various sort options.

  27. DBV-DBF View
  28. ------------
  29. Simple viewer/editor for dBASE-compatible .DBF files.  Switch between record
  30. and browse modes.  Does single-field, scan-across searches.  Editing of
  31. fields enabled by command-line switch.  May be used to search a directory
  32. for .DBF files regardless of filename extension (/F2).

  34. FIX-File Fix
  35. ------------
  36. Binary editor, with record orientation, which allows searches for either
  37. text or hex strings.  Default record size automatically set to maximum
  38. allowed by number of lines on screen.  (Maximum record size is 576 bytes
  39. with a 50-line screen.)  The program draws from a common library of routines
  40. shared with other programs I've written.  Color or black-and-white mode
  41. automatically determined at program start-up.

  43. CRC-Cyclic Redundancy Checker
  44. -----------------------------
  45. Displays 16- and 32-bit CRC's of files or directory contents.  16-bit CRC   
  46. same as for ARC, LZH, LZS, PAK and ZOO files.  32-bit CRC same as for ARJ   
  47. and ZIP.  "CRC filespec" displays individual CRC's for the specified        
  48. file(s).  "CRC path" displays accumulated CRC's of all files contained in   
  49. the specified directory.  May be used to compare files/directories on       
  50. physically separated machines, or to see if changes have occurred over time.

  52. DirX-Directory of eXecutables
  53. -----------------------------
  54. Shell for detecting files compressed by several executable file compressors.
  55. Calls on user-selectable external programs to transparently compress and
  56. uncompress files from within the program.  Currently supported are AXE,
  57. DIET, EXEPACK, ICE, LEXEM, LZEXE, PKLITE, SCRNCH, SHRINK and TINYPROG.

  59. DirXC-DirX Command-line lister
  60. ------------------------------
  61. Smaller, simpler version of DirX for when you just want a listing of
  62. compressed and uncompressed files.  Listing is redirectable to printer or
  63. file.  Mimicks DOS's DIR command, to an extent.  No sorting is performed.

  65. HOL-Holiday
  66. -----------
  67. Command-line utility for listing selected U.S. holidays falling within a
  68. range of dates.  You may specify a starting year or date.  By default, lists
  69. all holidays for the year starting from your system date.  Switches are
  70. available to:  show Easter and Ash Wednesday only, show Federal (Postal)
  71. holidays only, and to modify the range of dates searched.  A pause option is
  72. also included.

  74. ZFV-ZIP Format View
  75. -------------------
  76. Allows you to see how a ZIP file is laid out on disk.  Uses windowing to
  77. step down to lower levels of detail.  Displays header offsets and most field
  78. values, including their interpretation.  Admittedly, this program isn't for
  79. everyone.  For the curious and those with a need to know, however, this
  80. program displays technical data on ZIP files that I haven't seen in any
  81. other program.

  83. RVB-RView Batch
  84. ---------------
  85. Here's a simple utility that does little more than return a unique
  86. ERRORLEVEL code based on archive format.  Does a cursory check for invalid
  87. archives.  Currently supported are ARC, ARJ, HYP, LZH, LZS, PAK, SQZ, ZIP &
  88. ZOO.

  90. RC-RCalc
  91. --------
  92. Non-TSR dec/hex/bin/oct expression calculator.  Also decimal floating-point.
  93. Supports modulus (%) and exponentiation (^) in addition to the four basic
  94. arithmetic operations.  Input window is editable and allow nested
  95. parentheses and extra space characters.  Calculator can be repositioned on
  96. screen.

  100. Suggested BBS names for the above programs would be formed by taking the
  101. first part of the title line above (e.g. "RV"), followed by the major (1
  102. digit) and minor (2 digits) version numbers, without the dot.  Thus, RV 2.51
  103. becomes RV251.  (The filename extension would be whatever archive format the
  104. particular BBS requires, if any, though I usually upload my distribution
  105. archives to CompuServe in .ZIP format.)

  108. uploaded myself, search on the keyword "RTK".
